Our monthly team meetings have been growing in attendance and such was the case as we kicked off 2010 with the January team meeting. 39 people turned out for the meeting and the presentation from Marty Snyderman. It was our first pot luck of the year with plenty of food. Every third month we will be having the pot luck at our team meeting and we will be providing pizza for all others. Team meetings are the second Friday of the month.

Learning just got easier. We gathered all the GR8 Divn instructors together in January to brain storm on how to continue to provide and improve your first class diving learning experience. Whether you are looking to become a certified diver or wanting to grow in your divn knowledge through specialty courses we are devoted to providing individualized learning experience. As our core value of providing instruction and lessons that fits your schedule is now supported by our growing list of instructors and dive control specialists. Classes start when you sign up with a maximum of 6 students per class. In addition we will be offering a monthly specialty course to keep you growing through knowledge and experience. February’s specialty course is stress and rescue for those who are looking towards achieving your master diver level certification. We are looking forward to providing you fun and exciting learning experiences in 2010.

Cottonwood Cove provided us a GR8 new local training and divn spot in 2009 and here some of the new happenings for 2010. The pool simulator aka “the beach” has been improved with two new underwater training platforms to keep us out of the muck. We have mapped compass coordinates to the platforms so if you are new to the beach the platforms are easy to find. We have added an underwater line below the swim line to help keep us out of marina boat traffic. Our divn for fun program at Cottonwood is enhanced this year. For those who want to dive for fun we have set up the boats so each boat will have a driver and dive master. The driver will stay with the boat for shore support and the dive master will assist those who chose with the underwater fun. Each boat will be stocked with ice water and depart as scheduled so we can get three to four dives per day. We have started mapping and naming new dive sites for you to explore and enjoy. Two new sites are the Chutes and Red Cliff up water from the marina. We ask that you preregister if interested in diving for fun so we can make arrangements prior to your diving. As always those who would like to stay overnight houseboats are available and yes we will continue the wildly popular Saturday night pot luck extravaganza. Please check with the shop for rates on the boat for day diving and the houseboats for your overnight stay. We look forward to seeing you this year at Cottonwood.
